  • restructured finance: PPP, PFI, securitization,
  • strategic advice and corporate restructuring implementation: real estate agencies, hotels, manufacturing.

As a result of Emiliano’s extensive experience as an entrepreneur, he offers clients solid legal knowledge, perfected negotiation techniques, extensive project management skills along with strong multidisciplinary knowledge, and a practical view of what is important. He is well-known in the Energy and Infrastructure fields, as well as financial structuring and restructuring, specially related with business crisis and refinancing.

He is also the President of Garayar Abogados for his innovating vision of law and the management of law firms. His objective is to push a collaborative project for clients to receive and appreciate value, and lawyers to develop to their full potential.

Professional Background

He has over 25 years of professional experience as a lawyer. He spent 15 years out of the 25 working at an important Spanish Law Firm (Gómez-Acebo & Pombo). He was responsible for cases in Spain and abroad, and held executive positions as a partner. In the past 10 years, he has pushed an independent law project that focuses on giving value to the client above all, furthering from the traditional business law practice in Spain.

He has pushed numerous projects related to energy, infrastructures, technology, real estate, and hotels, giving him first-hand entrepreneurial experience and offering professional advice to his clients.

He is a professor at IE Business School. He has lectured on energy and regulated industries at many conferences in Spain and abroad. He is co-author of ‘Aspectos legales de la liberalización energética en la Unión Europea’ (Legal Aspects of the Energy Liberation in the European Union) (Oxford), ‘Control de Fusiones en Europa’ (Merger Control in Europe) (Kluwer), ‘Tratado de Derecho de la Competencia’ (Competition Law Treaty) (Bosch), among others.
